Milo's Story
FAST FACTS
• Almost 5 months old, born 6/4/25
• Male
• Medium energy
• 22 pounds
• Good with kids? Unknown
• Good with cats? Unknown
• Good with dogs? Yes, must have a resident dog in his permanent home
• Adoption fee: $550

BIO
Sweet little Milo came from a breeder, and for such a young pup, his world has already been a bit overwhelming. When he first arrived at his foster home, he was frightened and fragile, unsure of people, unsure of his surroundings, and unsure of himself. He especially struggled around men and would shrink away whenever a hand or arm was raised, his tiny tail tucked tightly between his legs. His early barks and growls weren’t from aggression—they were the voice of a scared puppy who just didn’t know he was finally safe.

But oh, how far he’s come. With time, love, and patience, Milo has begun to discover that humans can be kind. These days, his tail wags more often than it hides, and the once-timid pup is starting to shine. He absolutely adores the resident dog in his foster home—his “mentor”—and takes great comfort in following his lead. Together, they’ve shown Milo that life doesn’t have to be so scary. Milo still approaches new people and situations with caution, so he’ll need a family who can move at his pace. He’s highly treat-motivated, which makes building trust a little easier. And once he feels safe, he’s pure joy—full of affection, sweetness, and happy energy. He loves his toys, does a little “happy dance” at mealtime, and melts hearts with his gentle spirit. One thing to know: Milo gets carsick (from both ends), so he may need medication or some extra preparation for car rides. Milo has been a bit slow to grow and put on weight, so he’ll need some extra care during mealtime. He tends to eat a little too quickly, which can upset his tummy, so offering smaller, more frequent meals—ideally with a puzzle feeder or slow-fed bowl, will help him eat at a comfortable pace and feel his best.

MUST MEET ALL OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS: a confident, friendly mentor dog to help guide him; a family member home most of the day; a calm, patient household that will give him time, reassurance, and love

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS, NO EXCEPTIONS:
* Be at least 23 years of age
* No children under 6 years of age living in your home
* We primarily adopt goldens to families living within Illinois, Northwest Indiana, and the southernmost counties of Wisconsin
* If you do not own your residence or live in a condo, you will need a letter from your landlord or property management company
* Provide excellent vet care for your dog(s)
* Do not use an invisible fence
* Are not over your town/county's pet limit
* Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household
* Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment

If interested, please fill out our online adoption application form; please make sure you fill in every required field/question or your submission will not go through:
https://www.asgoodasgold.org/online-adoption-application/
