Milly's Story

Milly is a 10-year-old, 79-pound sweetheart who embodies the calm, gentle spirit of a dog who knows how to enjoy the simple things in life. She rides beautifully in the car, though she needs a little boost to get in and a helping hand getting out. Once she's settled, she's quiet and content.

Milly's ideal day is simple: a few minutes exploring a small yard, a short stroll around the block, and a cozy nap on a soft carpet or fluffy pillow. She walks nicely on leash, preferring a slow and steady pace. She does have some arthritis in her back legs, so she doesn't like them touched much and should have her nails trimmed by a professional or under sedation to keep her comfortable.

She's house trained, polite, and wonderfully low maintenance. Milly accepts affection gently and warms up in her own time. Once she feels safe, she enjoys quiet companionship and will occasionally wander over just to check in and see what you're doing. She's not one for busy, noisy homes-she'd rather spend her days relaxing in peace and soaking up the calm.

Milly's former family loved her dearly but had to give her up due to housing changes, so she needs time to adjust to her new surroundings. It's important to allow her time to decompress and give her space during her first couple of weeks at home, as she's navigating big life changes at a seasoned stage in her life. Due to her age and shyness, Milly would do best in an adult-only home where she can feel safe and secure. She's low energy, not much into toys, and perfectly happy just being near someone who loves her. Milly would likely do well with another calm senior dog, but she's just as content being the only dog in the home.

If you're looking for a gentle, loyal companion to share quiet moments and cozy days with, Milly is ready to fill your home with her quiet love and steady heart.

As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines.

To learn more about Milly or to meet her in person, please reach out to her foster pawrent at (708)-674-3096!
