Millie's Story
NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

Millie is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart and then never lets it go. With her soft, soulful eyes and adorable little “potato” body, she has a way of making everyone feel instantly at ease. Thought to be around 3 years old, She’s incredibly gentle, loving, and in tune with her people—whether you’re relaxing on the couch or heading out for a busy day, Millie is right there with you, happy just to be included. She adores kids, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and has a calm, affectionate nature that makes her an easy companion in just about any setting.

This sweet girl thrives on connection and routine. She’s crate-trained and does well when left alone, and she’s mostly house trained—able to hold it overnight—with just a few occasional accidents likely tied to a bit of separation anxiety. She hasn’t quite mastered signaling when she needs to go out yet, but she’s a smart pup who could easily learn with consistency (a doorbell system would be perfect for her!). Millie loves her daily walks and is excellent on leash, staying right by your side—unless a squirrel or small critter catches her eye. She does have a prey drive, but she’s very responsive and redirects well with gentle guidance.

Millie is truly a dream dog with a soft, steady presence. She’s not much of a barker, prefers people over toys, and would much rather snuggle up in bed (especially if it’s with a kid!) than entertain herself with playthings. While she’s confident and outgoing with people, she can get overly excited around very small dogs and should not live with cats or tiny pets. She’ll do best in a home where she gets plenty of companionship, outdoor time, and love—ideally with someone who enjoys walks and doesn’t mind a loyal shadow. If you’re looking for a sweet, devoted, and easygoing best friend, Millie is ready to be your girl.

We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog.

Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess.

Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area.
