Millie's Story

Millie has been with us for a few weeks. She was in another rescue with a foster and was causing havoc. Biting and attacking people.

So for a few weeks, Millie has been in training with me and she had one problem only, Millie can NOT be treated like a human. Millie can NOT be spoiled rotten. Millie needs rules, boundaries and structure. She has never once tried to bite anyone here but everyone has strict rules of treating Millie like a...like a...like a DOG. Millie has accumulated some resource guarding which a lot of spoiled rotten dogs accumulate. She will claim a couch, toys, bones, blankets, HER person, etc. This is an easy fix of communication between us. She just doesn't get to make those decisions. I do. So she respects me and my staff for treating her like a dog and not a human. If she doesn't get the chance to resource guard, she's perfect!! We pet her and praise her and tell her how beautiful she is, while still giving her good healthy dog boundaries.

Millie is up for adoption to the right home. No small children and no people who have a bleeding heart and can get tricked by a cute little long haired yorkie who bats her eyes at you as if to say pretty please with every request

If interested in adopting, please go to dalistotherescue.com/adopt and fill out a pre-adoption application.

For any questions, CALL (989) 463 9797.
