Millie's Story
Meet Millie — A Beautiful Girl Looking for Her Safe Place

Look into Millie's eyes and it's pretty hard not to fall in love, one beautiful blue eye, one warm brown eye, and a face covered in the sweetest little freckles.

Millie has been loved since she was just six weeks old. She's grown up as part of a family, and at home with the people she loves, she's a wonderful combination of gentle, sweet, playful and perfectly happy to be lazy. She loves a good nap, but she's just as happy exploring a backyard, chasing squirrels or playing tug-of-war.

And Millie has an especially sweet side with children. She lives with a two-year-old and seems to understand that little people require a softer touch. She may play tug-of-war full-force with an adult, but when her toddler grabs the toy, Millie knows to play gently.

Millie has also lived happily with another dog in the past. Cats are an unknown simply because she hasn't lived with one.

A Little More About Millie:
-Gentle and incredibly sweet
-Wonderful with her toddler
-Previously lived happily with another dog
-Loves naps and relaxing with her people
-Enjoys exploring outside and chasing squirrels
-Loves to play tug-of-war
-Enjoys routine and being close to her people
-Absolutely gorgeous, but she already knows that.

The Person Millie Needs:
Millie's story comes with something important that her future person needs to understand.

After a recent move, Millie developed severe separation anxiety. When her people are home, she's the dog they've always known, she'll lie down, sleep and happily spend time with them. But being left alone in this new environment currently causes genuine panic.

Her family is working with their veterinarian, and Millie recently began daily medication for anxiety. Because she has panicked to the point of hurting herself trying to escape confinement, she should not simply be placed in a crate and left alone. Her future person needs to understand separation anxiety and be willing to patiently help Millie learn that she is safe.

That's not all that Millie is.

It's simply something Millie needs help with.
Her world has changed tremendously in a short period of time. What hasn't changed is the sweet, gentle dog underneath all that worry.

Millie needs someone who can give her stability, routine, patience and companionship while she finds her footing again. Someone who sees the beautiful dog in front of them, not just the anxiety she's experiencing right now.

Her family has loved Millie since she was a tiny six-week-old puppy. Now they're trying to do one more loving thing for her: find the person who can be her safe place for the rest of her life.

Could that person be you?
