Meet Milledge

Welcome Milledge! Millie is a 1.5 year old bulldog x beagle mix, weighing around 38 pounds! Milledge is recently recovered from a broken pelvis, so we are finally getting to see Millie’s full personality now that she’s off crate rest!

Millie’s broken pelvis was caused by being hit by a car. Physically healed now, Millie is still working on learning that the world isn’t so scary. Understandably, she’s quite afraid of turned-on cars; however, parked, turned-off cars are okay and she even likes going on car rides, especially if they end at the dog park! In general, Millie is really shy with new people and new places. With Foster Mom’s guidance and recent trips to the dog park, Millie is improving though! Once she’s comfortable, like in Foster Mom’s house, the typical happy beagle shines. As far as exercise, Millie’s still not comfortable with walks around the neighborhood but she enjoys playing and zooming inside the house.

Millie is nearly potty trained! She knows that she’s supposed to go outside and has a signal, but sometimes she gets outside and it’s just too scary to potty. So, she comes back in and has the occasional accident. Millie is crate trained, though! She will go in on command, and will only whine if she just really wants attention. Since she had to be on strict-crate rest due to her injury, her crate has become like a second home to Millie, and is her safe space.

Milledge is cat-friendly! She’s seen cats at the vet and completely ignored them. Milledge currently lives in the house with other dogs and does fine with them, although she’s not very playful. Millie’s recently started going to the dog park as well and happily greets new dogs but mostly ignores them. Millie has met kids at a recent adoption event and accepted pets. However, she gets really overwhelmed with lots of commotion and would be happiest in a home without young kids. Millie tends to be very shy with new people. Once she warms up to you, she considers herself your newest best friend! She loves to snuggle and hang out with her people. When not getting attention from Foster Mom, Millie with entertain herself by chewing on her toys or napping.

Looking for a sweetheart to keep you company inside and snuggle on cold days? You’ve found her! Contact us today about meeting Millie!
