This 36-pound boy is affectionate, easygoing, and happiest when he’s close to his people.<br/><br/>Milkshake came to RARE from a rural pound, and despite whatever his past may have looked like, he has never lost his love for people. He’s a total sweetheart who loves belly rubs, curling up on the couch, and snoozing in his dog bed near his foster at night. <br/><br/>Milkshake is:<br/><br/>-Incredibly loving and affectionate<br/><br/>-A professional couch companion<br/><br/>-A big fan of belly rubs and being close to his people<br/><br/>-Good with other dogs, though he prefers some personal space when he's relaxing<br/><br/>-Good with cats<br/><br/>-Not much of a barker<br/><br/>-House-trained<br/><br/>Milkshake does occasionally enjoy playing with other dogs, especially smaller ones, but he's just as happy lounging around and soaking up attention. He appreciates having his own space when he's settling down, particularly if he's relaxing on the couch.<br/><br/>There is one important thing Milkshake's future family will need to understand: he does struggle with separation anxiety. He loves his people so much that being left alone can be difficult for him. Because of this, Milkshake needs an adopter who is committed to helping him work through his separation anxiety rather than expecting him to simply "get over it."<br/><br/>His forever family should be prepared to move at his pace and gradually build his comfort with being alone, and provide the consistency and patience he needs to feel secure. This may take time, but Milkshake is worth it. <br/><br/>He's not looking for someone who expects perfection.
