Milan's Story

Hi! Meet me between 12-7pm daily at 71 Oglethorpe St NW!

On a recent field trip, a volunteer noted that Milan walked well on leash in Rock Creek Park. When they went home, she made herself at home and seemed comfortable as new people came into the home. She enjoyed chewing a soft toy. "My friend and her husband were so impressed how well behaved Milan was. It was a fun day for me... She is a young energetic and independent dog and can be a wonderful addition to a family that is equally active, caring, and has plenty of soft stuffed dog toys."

Milan — with her fashionable name and fabulous grey coat — would love to meet you! This beautiful girl arrived far too thin, but even then, she showed a remarkably sweet spirit. We’ve been fussing over her, pampering her, and helping her put on healthy weight, and now she’s ready for the next step: a loving home where she’ll receive great meals and oodles of TLC.

Milan is easy to leash up and she enjoys sniffy, fun walks. She also loves to chase balls, making playtime with her an absolute delight. Gentle pets down her back and sides are her favorite, and when she meets new people, she’s a calm, lovely gal (though she does get a bit excited with cats.) And her full-body sploots? They bring smiles to everyone who sees them.

This wonderful dog is hoping for a home where she’s treated like a cherished family member — safe, adored, and celebrated for the sweet soul she is. Meet and adopt Milan today and give her the great home she deserves.
