Midnight's Story

It’s hard to tell from these pictures, but Midnight’s a medium sized dog and only weighs 23 lbs. She was transferred to us from Boston Animal Control. Our vet is estimating that she is between nine months and two years old., Midnight is a playful, spunky girl who is looking for an active adopter. She loves to run and play! She would likely be a good candidate for somebody looking for a hiking or running companion and would excel at canine sports like scentwork or agility. Once she is tired out, she loves to cuddle and be patted. She is a really sweet girl.

Midnight is good with some dogs after a slow introduction, but she can be reactive when on leash. She'd benefit from consistent training and boundaries to become her best self. She is very smart and loves to train so will be a lot of fun for a committed adopter. We are looking for a home with either no other dogs or a submissive dog who would be okay with a young, active herding breed. Since we do not have a history on her with children, we will not place her in a home with kids under 16 years old. She will be spayed 4/16 so we are accepting applications for her now.

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application here: medfieldshelter.com/adopt

If a dog is listed on our website, it is still available for adoption; however, there may be applications ahead of yours. We typically receive many applications for every dog we post. All adoption meetings are by appointment.

Our dog adoption fee is $450 for dogs aged seven months to seven years old, and $250 for dogs aged eight years and older. Every dog we place receives age-appropriate vaccines, is treated for worms, ticks, and fleas, tested for heartworm, microchipped, and spayed or neutered before adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash. Please fill out the adoption application if you would like to be considered for a dog in our care.

With few exceptions, dogs are happiest and well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families willing to commit to both.
