Midknight's Story

Midknight is handsome black lab mix who was surrendered by his original owner when she realized she couldn't provide him with the attention, exercise, and space he needs to thrive. It is obvious that he was well loved! He is house trained, crate trained, neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, heartworm and Lyme disease negative, and no intestinal worms. He rides well in the car, staying in the back of the SUV, even on longer rides (over 2 hours). He sleeps quietly all night in his crate or contained in the kitchen. Midknight LOVES his people and gets excited when he sees you in the morning, or even if you've only been away for a short time! He doesn't jump up onto people, but he does happy jumps straight up into the air. Midknight wants to go wherever his nose leads him, so he needs a strong hand on his leash. He gets several long walks every day in his foster home and is always ready for another one! Although he can be shy at first when meeting someone new, he warms up quickly and remembers everyone he has met. He is good with children of all ages. He lives with a cat and a smaller dog in his foster home. He loves to play with his furry foster brother. He barks to let you know he wants something - mostly at mealtime or if he wants some petting. Because his nose is his control center, Midknight would probably do well in Nose Work or Tracking classes. His nose can get him into trouble though as he doesn't always respect people's "personal space." And he monitors the kitchen counters to be sure no one has left something tasty within his reach.
