UPDATE 2018-1-28: Mickey is making good progress through the last part of his heartworm treatment. He has another week or so of quiet and only out for potty breaks, and then he can do as he wants outside. He has continued to be a most patient fella, and his coat, which was very threadbare when he came to us in October, has grown back in to a luxuriant, beautiful deep rust-color. He will soon be ready to be seeking his own perfect forever home.<br/><br/>UPDATE: It's almost Christmas and MickeyRooney has almost completed the first half of the injection phase of his heartworm treatment. He is doing great, and will receive another set of injections in early January. If all continues to go well, he should be available for adoption in mid-February. In the meantime, he is being such a good boy and keeping himself quiet as much as possible, even though he would much rather run and play. He so enjoys companionship, petting, bellyrubs, and especially chewbones. His latest favorite is deer antler.<br/><br/>MickeyRooney is one of the sweetest-natured corgis that we have had the pleasure of fostering in our rescue. He came to us as a stray, rescued by a good samaritan who saw him standing in the middle of the road and thought he had been hit by a car. Though that turned out to not be the case, Mickey has other challenges. None of them slow him down.
