Meet Mickey

Mickey has been living with us for 8 years, and no one understands why. He is an American Bulldog, who weighs in at 69 pounds of love! Mickey likes his walks and short runs, playing gently with his stuffed animal, but most of all, Mickey likes to sit with you and be petted, kissed, and loved. He is good natured, walks well on a leash and he has an adorable personality that will steal your heart. Mickey has spent too long at Born Free and needs a home while he has enough years left to enjoy the love and family that he so deserves. If you are ready to meet this big, lovable guy, please contact his foster mom, Sophie, at 786-220-4958 or email her at sophie_gillette@yahoo.com

Mickey went to a foster home, and this is what his foster family has to say:

Three weeks ago, Mickey went to our home as a foster and l would say that he's adapted very quickly to the good life. On his first day, he explored the backyard and took a quick dip in the pool (non intentionally :) and seemed particularly fond of his new fluffy bed. Mickey is a bit of a couch potato but what do you expect after living in the shelter for so many years? Show him the leash and Mickey will happily get out of bed and go for a nice walk with you. He's easy going on the leash and walks with the funniest prance! He loves his belly rubs and his favorite game is to run from one person to the next and get a lot of love. In the evening, Mickey comes alive and decides it's playtime. His foster dad will throw his toy in the air and Mickey tries to catch it. It's so cute to see a senior dog enjoy life so much.
We are happy to say that Mickey's vision is improving after following a treatment for dry eyes. He requires drops in his eyes which he accepts without a fuss and really enjoys the following treat. Mickey is very quiet and easy going, still learning his new routine and we're working on getting him house trained. Mickey is a fantastic dog and we know that he will bring as much joy to a new family as he does to us.
