Mickey

Sweet Mickey... This 13-month old purebred border collie boy has nothing but love to give and has known nothing but love. Hes now been with us a week and this active, affectionate guy is ready to find his forever home. <br/>He walks well on a leash, but is still learning what to do with exciting distractions. He loves water! He crates well at night. Rides great in a car.<br/>Mickey loves all people and dogs. If you stop petting him, he may stand up for a hug. Hes greeted dogs in the neighborhood gently and appropriately. (He is very distressed if not allowed to meet them. Were working on this.)<br/>He has spent some time with school-age kids and is very enthusiastic. One of our grandkids tried his hand at seeing what commands Mickey knows. He loves tug toys!<br/>Mickey would love to be your next running buddy and would excel at agility. He loves activity but has been happy to take long naps at our feet as we work from home. Or cuddle up on the bed next to anyone taking a break from work.<br/>P.S. Mickey came into rescue with a medical condition. He had a muscle that didn't relax when he swallowed. He has been successfully treated with surgery. Right now, he eats canned wet food in the morning and regular, dry kibble soaked in water in the evenings - without any issues. <br/>The surgery improved his quality of life but he is not limited.
