MIA's Story

WATCH MY VIDEO...Mia's world changed in an instant.

For two years, this beautiful American Staffordshire mix had a family she loved and a home she knew. Then, sadly, her beloved owner passed away. Through no fault of her own, Mia found herself at the shelter waiting for someone to give her a chance. While her heart may have been broken, Mia has not stopped believing in people. She is still the sweet, loving girl she has always been, and everyone who meets her can see just how much love she has to give.

Mia's family told us she lived happily with another dog and did well. She gets excited when she sees people, and that excitement comes from a place of simply wanting to be loved and included. Since arriving at our shelter, our volunteers have discovered what a true lovebug she is. She is affectionate, sweet, and eager to connect with everyone she meets.

Mia takes treats gently, knows sit, and even showed off her sit and stay skills before coming when called. She may come out of her kennel with lots of happy energy, but she settles down quickly and is ready to spend time with her people.

Oh, and Mia loves to play fetch especially with balls that squeak. Thanks to Dolly's Dream, they have kindly paid her adoption fee and she gets to go home with goodies from the Pet Boutique. To meet her, visit humanebroward.com and complete the pre-adoption application. The shelter is located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale. If you have any questions call 954-989-3977 ext. 6.
