Mia's Story

A week and a half ago I rescued 4 year-old, 8 lbs Mia from the Baldwin Park animal shelter. Unfortunately, her owner had passed away and Mia and her sibling were dumped at the shelter. Her sibling was adopted before Mia and she was left behind absolutely terrified. Since I got her out she has been so sweet. Just an adorable little gentle soul. Her amazing foster mama @mauren_elissa says she’s been sleeping a lot and is feeling much more comfortable each day. Mia will come to her foster mamma for attention from time to time and will jump on her lap and lets her pet her. When it’s time to go out for a walk Mia gets really excited! She gets along very well with her furry foster sibling… And she loves LOVES treats! So overall she’s doing very well considering her circumstances before we rescued her. The other day she even let her foster mamma give her a bath?. Mia is trained to go on pads but is still getting used to going outside. If you would like to be this sweet lil angel’s forever family, please email me at calliescaninerescue@gmail.com
FOSTERING SAVES LIVES!
ADOPT. DON’T. The major steps are the adoption application, the interview(s), the home check, ID and social media verification, the meet and greet, the adoption fee, the transfer of ownership along with medical records, and planning the best day to bring your new family member home. We always recommend it be earlier in the day when the home will be calm for a few days. And we are there to guide the family through every step of the decompression and settling-in phase.
