Mia’s FAQs

What is K9 Orphans, Inc.’s adoption process?

The first step in the adoption process is either to submit an application or contact us to meet one of our pups. Applications are processed in the order they are received. We carefully review each application and place dogs based on a variety of criteria. Ultimately, we will always act in the best interest of the dog. Please be patient! We are a volunteer organization – everyone has real jobs, families, and other commitments that sometimes take precedence. The adoption process typically goes something like this: Submit an application Schedule a meet ‘n’ greet with the dog(s) you are interested in. We call vet, landlord (if applicable) and personal references. Schedule a home visit, preferably with all household members and animals present. Sign adoption contract, pay adoption fee, and transfer the dog.
