MiMi's Story

Meet Mimi

Mimi is a little terrier mix from Mexico with a big personality packed into a tiny body. Since arriving in Colorado, she's been learning what safety, comfort, and love look like — and every day she's making progress.

At first, Mimi can be wary of new people, especially if someone is standing over her, but once she trusts you, her sweet side shines through. She loves curling up in laps, happily greets her people, and has discovered one of her favorite hobbies: collecting toys and carrying them back to her special spot like tiny treasures.

Don't let her mature side fool you—Mimi is still very much a youngster at heart. She is incredibly playful, loves toys, and can often be found zooming around, playing fetch, or proudly showing off her latest toy collection. Her silly, playful personality is one of her most endearing qualities and brings plenty of entertainment to those lucky enough to know her.

Mimi has already mastered stairs, sleeps soundly through the night in her kennel, and is doing wonderfully with house and potty training. She's also a pretty quiet girl — her foster says they rarely hear her bark at all.

Mimi knows what she likes and isn't afraid to set boundaries. She does best with dogs that are close to her size and respectful of her space. Pushy dogs that ignore her signals aren't her style, but with proper introductions and management, she can coexist successfully with the right canine companion. A home without cats would be best.

What Mimi needs most is someone willing to understand her boundaries, continue building her confidence, and give her the secure environment she's never truly had before. In return, you'll get a loyal little shadow who loves her people deeply, plenty of laughs from her playful antics, and a devoted companion who is ready to start her next chapter.

Interested in fostering or adopting Mimi?
