Merritt's Story

The Sweetest Little Shadow You'll Ever Have

Some puppies steal your socks. Merrit steals hearts.

From the moment you meet him, there's just something about this little guy. He's the puppy who happily follows you from room to room, curls up beside your feet when you're busy, and somehow makes every ordinary moment feel a little brighter.

Born April 3, Merrit is still very much a puppy, but he's already showing everyone exactly who he is. While his siblings are often busy creating chaos, Merrit is usually the one checking in for a cuddle, wagging his tail just because you looked his way, or quietly waiting for his turn.

Merrit is a Morkie mix with an incredibly gentle heart. Don't get us wrong... he still loves to play. He enjoys zooming around with his siblings, wrestling with his dog friends, and carrying toys that are somehow twice his size. But when playtime is over, Merrit is happiest right beside his people.

He's the kind of puppy who doesn't just want attention... He wants connection.

Merrit is already doing wonderfully with his crate training and is well on his way with potty training. He's eager to learn, incredibly affectionate, and the type of puppy who genuinely wants to make his people happy.

He'd love another friendly dog to grow up with, but more than anything, he's looking for a family who will love him as much as he'll love them.

The family that laughs at his goofy puppy moments.
The family that lets him curl up next to them after a long day.
The family he'll spend the next 15 years loving with his whole heart.

Some puppies grow into great dogs. Something tells us Merrit is going to grow into someone's once-in-a-lifetime best friend. Maybe yours.

See More Videos of Moxie and Tilley's Crew here:
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL80kWIlZCtlSEDd5NFaH91Z_o_oOBjlYq

+++++++

What Is a Benefactor Dog or Puppy, and Why Is the Adoption Fee Higher?

Benefactor dogs and puppies are typically specific breed mixes or high-demand rescues who tend to find homes quickly even with a higher adoption fee. These dogs play a special role in our mission.

Their increased fees help cover the costs for dogs who need much more time, care, and resources before theyre ready for adoption. Some dogs spend monthseven over a yearin our care, requiring expensive surgeries, heartworm treatment, behavioral training, or ongoing medical support.

By adopting a Benefactor dog, you're not only giving them a loving homeyoure also helping to fund the second chance of another dog still waiting for theirs. Its a meaningful way to make a difference beyond just one life.

+++++++

ADOPTION APPLICATION:
https://form.jotform.com/260401018308040

+++++++

Merritt is currently being fostered in NJ and will be transported to the perfect forever home by our rescue! We have transports departing each week!

+++++++

The Truth About Rescue:

Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and thats the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.

Adoption isn't about perfection; its about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they're finally home. Thats when you'll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you'll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

+++++++

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com.

Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.

Check out all of our adoptable pups and learn more about our rescue on our website: www.stmuttsrescue.com
