Merlin

RetroDoggy Rescue welcomed Merlin the Magnificent in late Septmeber of 2023. Merlin is a 10 year old 6.5 lb sweetheart of a Yorkie.. he was treated as a "purse puppy" by his previous owner who didn't bother to notice or address his significant orthopedic issues ... bilateral luxating patellas requiring surgery as well as an inflamed cruciate ligament) which resulted in extreme discomfort for Merlin and caused him to limp on 3 legs...add to that , a collapsing trachea.
Merlin had corrective surgery with Dr. Wilson at Animal Clinic of Sterling Hts on 11/27/23 and now has fully recovered. His tracheal symptoms (cough) are medically managed with meds as needed and potential adopters need to provide this care going forward..This little darling is worth it as he gives back so much love in return for the care and love that he receives. Merlin has much needed dental scheduled which will be
completed prior to adoption.
Merlin is spunky, smart and super cuddly..Loves walks (keep them short please), stealing items from the laundry basket among other places and demanding you play "catch me if you can". As winner of the Ultimate Suggler award he claims any lap available as his prize and will drift off to sleep with gentle snores lol.
He is not fully potty trained so outside time is essential, and he has fabulous designer belly bands for use in the house! Merlin is a chow hound and therefore
is fed 3 small meals daily.
Merlin has been through a lot, and come out a champ! Energetic, loving, funny and smart. We are looking for a home with no small children, no large dogs. and preferable small dog experience with a person or family who will committ to his care and in return be given endless kisses and cuddles!!
For an application to adopt email petrealtors@yahoo.com
Adoption fee is $250
Our vet costs for Merlin were in the thousands....and Merlin is SOOO worth it!
