Merle Haggard's Story
Meet Merle Haggard! Merle is approximately 4 years old and is thought to be an American Staffordshire Terrier-type mix.

Merle was found as a stray and was not claimed by his family, so we don't know what his life was like prior to being found and his age is estimated. Because of this, his family should be open to learning as they go with him, and allowing plenty of time for him to adjust to all of the changes he's had to face in a short amount of time.

We think he'd do well with another dog in the home as long as everyone is properly introduced and supervised. We don't yet know what his play style is, or what his particular boundaries may be, so it'll just be a 'take it one step at a time' and allow plenty of separation & decompression time.

Merle does still piddle when he gets excited, but that should start to go away now that he's been neutered. We don't know what kind of potty training routine he had in his previous life, so we recommend utilizing a crate and working on a refresher course either way. He's got a playful energy level and loves tennis balls, so he'd likely love to join you every day on a walk, hike/sniffari, or some play time in the yard. Obedience training is also a good form of exercise, because it helps to exercise the brain as well! This can also help to solidify the bond with Merle and his new handlers.

If you'd be interested in meeting a handsome lad like Merle, follow the link below!
