MEET MERIDA — SHE MAY NOT BE EASY, BUT SHE JUST MIGHT BE WORTH IT! <br/>Merida is not your typical, “take me home and we’ll be best friends tomorrow” kind of girl. She needs time, patience, consistency, and a family willing to let her become comfortable at her own pace.<br/>But we truly believe that if you give Merida the time she needs, she will be worth it. <br/>Merida has some very important must-haves for her new home:<br/> Another dog — Merida needs a canine companion in her new home.<br/> A securely fenced yard or outdoor run — She LOVES being outside and would be happiest having a safe place where she can enjoy the outdoors.<br/> Older children — A home with children 8 years or older is preferred, although respectful younger children may be considered depending on the situation.<br/> Harness and leash at all times when outside of her fenced area — Merida has not tried to bolt through doors, but she must be safely leashed and harnessed when walking to and from her fenced area.<br/> Crated when left alone — Merida hasn't been getting into trouble, but she is a curious girl! Her crate is simply a safe place for her to stay while her people are away.<br/>And there are a few things we want her future family to understand. <br/>Merida will probably never be the dog who wants to spend the day curled up in your lap. But she DOES enjoy being petted and showing affection in her own way.<br/>She will probably also never be the dog who wants to go everywhere you go. Merida thrives on routine, predictability and having a home where she knows what to expect.<br/>And when you pick her up, go slowly! She does a little bunny hop that might look like she's trying to get away. She's not — she's just helping you out! <br/>Merida isn't looking for a perfect family.
