After everything he's been through, he needs someone who will be patient and gentle while he learns that nobody is going to hurt him anymore.

We don't believe Memphis had ever really lived inside before being rescued. His ears were absolutely eaten up by flies, showing just how badly neglected he had been.

Now he's learning about couches, dog doors, house rules, and the very complicated concept of house training. He's still working on that last one, but he's doing really well with a dog door and is trying.

He also occasionally grabs something he's not supposed to chew.

His defense?

“I didn't know.”

His second defense?

“I'm a bulldog.”

His third defense?

Look at his face.

Memphis has already completed his heartworm treatment and is scheduled for his neuter and cherry eye repair.
