VIP: Melo was adopted from us when he was a pup and now at the age of 5 needs a new home. His owner from several years ago said he is crate trained and will sleep in his crate. Melo is a friendly boy who is good with other dogs as well children. He knows how to sit and walks on a leash. Melo sits up like a human and loves to sit at your feet. Melo went on a group dog walk to an area park with other dogs from the shelter. He was very excited when he got out of the kennel and while being harnessed, but did very well around the other dogs as the volunteers were waiting to leave in the parking lot, wanting to play with them. He jumped in the small SUV easily and rode well in the back seat, just laying down or sitting up and looking out the window the whole time. Once they got to the park he mellowed (Melo LOL!) out and walked well, whether he was at the front, middle, or back of the pack. Melo will make a great running buddy for someone and was very friendly with people he came into contact with at the park. <br/><br/>Adopted animals are not able to go to their new home until spay and neuter surgery has been done. Adoptions are first come first serve, and no appointment is needed. When asking about an animal, please be sure to use the animal identification number that starts with A.
