VIP: Melo was adopted from us when he was a pup and now at the age of 5 needs a new home. His owner from several years ago said he is crate trained and will sleep in his crate. Melo is a friendly boy who is good with other dogs as well children. He knows how to sit and walks on a leash. Melo sits up like a human and loves to sit at your feet. He is very playful!<br/>Adopted animals are not able to go to their new home until spay and neuter surgery has been done. Adoptions are first come first serve, and no appointment is needed. When asking about an animal, please be sure to use the animal identification number that starts with A.

Plano Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy

Adoptions are first come first serve. There is no application. Anyone over 18 years of age is eligible to adopt provided that they meet the adoption criteria for that specific animal. Criteria can range from having basic knowledge of the animal’s species or breed, having an established veterinary history, not having young children, the animal being legal to own in the city they live in, the breed they’re interested in being accepted at their apartments, etc. If a potential adopter doesn’t meet the criteria in place for that animal, they will be encouraged to look at other animals that may not have those restrictions in place. The criteria must also be met in order to visit with an animal.
