Melchor's Story
Melchor was born as the result of an unplanned litter. His mother belongs to a neighbor who didn’t spay her in time, and as a result, Melchor and his brothers Gaspar and Baltasar were born. Thankfully, we’ve since helped get their mom sterilized, ensuring she will never have more puppies. Now, our mission is to find loving and responsible homes for her little ones.

Melchor is a sweet little dog with a big personality. While he was the shyest of the three at first, he’s now shown a more dominant side when interacting with other dogs—especially when first meeting or around food. He enjoys rough play and often tries to establish himself as the boss, so he’ll need a home that can set clear boundaries with patience and care.

With people, Melchor is loving and trusting. He doesn’t mind being touched while eating by humans, but he does not like to share his food bowl with other dogs. He hasn’t yet learned to walk on a leash or signal when he needs to go outside, so he’ll need support and structure as he continues to grow and learn.

Melchor has already reached his adult size. He weighs approximately 8 kg (17.5 lbs) and won’t grow any larger. He appears to be a Dachshund mix—small and sturdy in build.

Melchor is ideal for a home that understands puppies with strong personalities and is committed to helping him become a well-socialized and confident adult dog.

About Melchor:
~ Current weight: 8 kg (17.5 lbs)
~ Fully grown, will not get any bigger
~ Estimated age: 3–4 months
~ Likely Dachshund mix
~ Affectionate and trusting with people
~ Dominant with other dogs, especially during play or feeding
~ Protective of his food bowl around other dogs
~ Not yet leash trained
~ Not yet potty trained
~ Ideal for a family with experience handling confident puppies

What’s Included with Adoption
When you adopt Melchor, you’ll receive:
~ ISO identification microchip
~ Neutering
~ Adoption contract
~ Collar and leash

Adoption Fee
Melchor’s adoption fee is $110 USD, which helps support our mission to rescue animals in need.

How to Adopt
If you’re ready to give Melchor a loving home, contact us via:
~ WhatsApp: +52 664 764 1811 (messages only)
~ Email: forhappytails.dogrescue@gmail.com

Help Us Spread Melchor’s Story
Share Melchor’s story with your friends and family.
