Melanie's Story
***** AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NOW*** Intact female 3 yrs. old 56 pounds Vaccines given 6-12-26 No microchip ALT ID# 6-11-26 33 6-17-26 nice, nervous, walks slow on leash, may not do well with other dogs 7/15/26 - staff reported when dog did a meet and greet, she was barring K9s and would seem relaxed/ok then snap out of nowhere. Dog was non-reactive when passing other dogs and non-reactive when dogs pass her. She walks very well on a leash, can be slightly playful but is not very interested in toys in this environment currently. She can be pet head to tail with no issues. *****Animals are eligible for adoption by the public after their stray hold period. Rescues are permitted to pull NOW animal is also legally available for euthanasia on this same date. AVAS will continue to follow the protocols in place for the health/safety of the animals in our care. The canine population currently in our care that are not showing symptoms will be posted on our website for public viewing. Canines will continue to be monitored by our medical staff under the direction of our supervising Veterinarian.
