Megan's Story

This little girl is part of our Olympic crew — five siblings rescued together from the streets of Guánica, Puerto Rico.

At just 21⁄2 months old and about 5 pounds, she’s happy, healthy, and thriving. After being lovingly fostered in Puerto Rico, she and her four siblings began their own Olympic journey – flying to Miami and then traveling by car all the way to New Jersey, where they are now safe and ready for forever homes. It was a long trip for such little pups, but they handled it like gold medalists.

Each pup is named after an Olympic hero. This sweet girl is Megan, named after a member of the Women’s Gold Medal hockey team, and she carries that same determined, champion spirit. Though small in size, she’s big in heart — playful, affectionate, and wonderful with kids. She loves to romp around and then snuggle up close.

From surviving on the streets of Puerto Rico to making the long journey north, our Olympic crew has proven they are fighters. Now, Megan is ready to win the greatest gold medal of all — a forever family of her own.
