Meg's Story

Meet Meg!

Meg is a very sweet, 2 year old Border Collie mix who makes herself right at home in your heart. She loves being around people, enjoys a good walk, and is happy to meet new friends, both human and canine. She has a lovely balance of playful energy and an excellent off switch, making her just as happy to head out for an adventure as she is to settle down and relax by your side.

Meg has great manners for a young dog! She knows sit, stay, “off,” and “no,” walks nicely on leash, and tends to stick close to her humans rather than wander off. She is house trained, rides beautifully in the car, and has nice indoor manners. She doesn’t chew on things she shouldn’t, is happy to lie down and relax, and has a soft spot for her favorite soft toys. With other dogs, Meg has a lovely play style and does a great job keeping things friendly, even when her playmates have big energy.

Meg is still learning a few things and will benefit from a little continued training. She’s working on “down” and “come,” as well as becoming comfortable with crate training. She can also be a little unsure of hard flooring, so rugs and runners help her feel more confident underfoot.

Meg is curious about cats and chickens and may try to startle them when off leash. She responds to “no” around them and is more calmly curious when on leash, but she’ll need continued training, supervision, and time before she can be fully trusted around smaller animals.

Above all, Meg is an absolute sweetheart. She wants to be near her people, enjoys meeting new friends, and settles beautifully into home life. She’s an easy dog to welcome into your routine, with a wonderful combination of affection, good manners, and a playful spirit.

Submit an application at Hdrescueoregon.com. $400 adoption fee.
