Meeka's Story

Meet Meeka - the dog with the most captivating eyes, sure to lure you in!
Meeka is a 4 year old male Border Collie/Husky mix. Meeka was surrendered due to being in a home with too many dogs. Meeka's previous owners felt he deserved a home where he could receive more one on one attention.
Meeka was feeling pretty nervous when he first arrived here. The shelter is a chaotic place, especially for newcomers, and it took him a bit to settle in. He can still show his shy side when unsure, but he is quickly coming out of his shell! Even with just a couple of days to get to know us, we are seeing Meeka's goofy and playful side shine through. He loves the pool in our backyard, and will happily spend as much time as he can splashing in it. He's also started to get zoomies around his favorite people, and loves to chase us around the yard! All we ask is that you don't judge Meeka right off the bat if he acts timid. Give him a chance, and you will fall in love with his charmful and loving personality.
Meeka does get along with most smaller dogs and is not a huge fan of dogs his size or bigger. We will be requiring he meet and dogs in the home prior to adoption to make sure it's a good fit. Meeka also does get along with children, but again we ask that any children in the home come out and meet him first. Meeka is your typical husky in that he is going to be selective in what he likes and does not like. We want to make sure we are placing him in a home that he can truly be happy and comfortable in!
Meeka has not met any cats and we are not sure of how he will do with any in the home. We would be willing to have him meet our office cats here at the shelter to get a general idea if that is something someone would like to know about!
Meeka has received his first round of vaccinations and is ready to hop on into his forever home! If you think Meeka could be your new best friend, come out and meet him today!
