Medusa's Story

Meet Apollo & Medusa
(Must be adopted together)

Medusa - The Gentle Guardian

Despite her legendary name, Medusa is the calm, steady presence of the pair-the grounding force that keeps Apollo balanced. Sweet, affectionate, and easygoing, Medusa enjoys being close to her people and is just as happy playing as she is lounging on the couch.

She **tolerates car rides**, often lying down and trying to nap. She's *house trained, crate trained* and will bark to let you know when she needs to go outside. Medusa walks fairly well on leash, though she sometimes needs a little encouragement to get started. She enjoys enrichment like a *Kong filled with frozen peanut butter and blueberries* and will happily free roam in a fenced yard.
Medusa is more *reserved with strangers* than her brother. She looks to her person for reassurance, then approaches politely, sniffing before accepting pets-and once she does, she's all in. She does well with cats and coexists peacefully, though she's less interested in playing with them than Apollo. With other dogs, she mostly minds her business and may bark back if barked at, but otherwise cohabitates well.

She does well with kids, though slow introductions are best-especially with smaller children-so her enthusiasm doesn't startle them. Medusa is very food motivated, making her easy to train; she knows sit, stay, and drop it. Baths and nail trims aren't her favorite, but she tolerates both with patience (and treats). She does well at the vet, is easy to handle, and friendly with staff.

### **A Perfect Balance**
Together, Apollo and Medusa are the definition of harmony-**Apollo brings confidence and joy, Medusa brings calm and reassurance**. He helps her feel brave in new situations; she helps him settle and feel grounded. Their bond is unbreakable, and they truly shine when they're together.
