Meatball's Story
My name is Meatball and I am a 7-year-old mixed breed who weighs about 40 lbs - though I'm currently on a healthy weight loss journey!
I originally came from Texas and made my way north in search of my forever home.

I'm a super friendly, easygoing guy who loves people and wants to be close to my humans whenever possible. In fact, I'm a bit of a Velcro dog - if you're sitting down, there's a very good chance I'll want to be right there with you, preferably in a comfy chair instead of on the floor.

My foster reports I'm fully potty trained, walk nicely on leash, and really enjoy getting out for walks. I also ride well in the car, making me an excellent companion for errands or little adventures around town.

I'd much rather hang out with my people than chase toys around the yard. Because of that, while I'd likely be perfectly safe around children, but with the understanding that I wont be an active playmate. I'm more of a cuddle-and-snack professional.

I've done well around other dogs overall, though my foster has noticed some stiff body language toward unfamiliar dogs while out on walks, so continued mindful introductions and handling would be a good idea.

One of my ears has what's called a "cauliflower ear" from old untreated ear infections before I came into rescue. The infections have been treated and are currently resolved, but my future family should continue keeping an eye on my ears to help keep me comfortable and healthy.

If you're looking for a loyal companion who's happiest just being near his people, enjoying walks, and living the cozy life, I might just be your perfect Meatball.
