Meadow's Story

Meet Meadow, a beautiful German Shepherd mix with a story that’s as heartbreaking as it is powerful. Meadow came into our care alongside another shepherd mix named Quint after they were found on the side of the road. Quint was severely emaciated and barely hanging on—and through it all, Meadow stayed right by his side, protecting him the best she could. That tells you everything you need to know about her heart.
But Meadow hasn’t had an easy life. Because of her unknown past, she is extremely shy and struggles with severe anxiety and deep trust issues, especially with new people. The world is a scary and unfamiliar place to her, and she takes time—real time—to feel safe.
Once she does trust you, though, you’ll see a completely different side of her. Meadow is incredibly gentle and has the sweetest, almost cat-like personality. She’ll quietly come up and rub against you for affection, soaking in the love in her own soft, timid way. It’s those small moments that make earning her trust so special.
Meadow is looking for a very specific home—one that is calm, patient, and understanding. She needs someone who will move at her pace and show her, day by day, what a loving and consistent home truly feels like. Because of her high anxiety, a home without young children is required.
She may not be the kind of dog who warms up instantly, but if you’re willing to give her the time and compassion she deserves, Meadow will give you something incredibly meaningful in return: her trust.
If you think you could be the person to help Meadow heal and finally feel safe, please reach out. She’s waiting for someone to believe in her.
Please call 740-474-3741 between the hours of 11am-4pm to inquire about any of our adoptables 🥰 Adoption fees are only $50 and any dog who isn’t already fixed comes with a voucher to pay 100% of the cost. We offer foster to adopt to make sure it’s the perfect fit 🧩 And don’t forget that full bios and additional photos of all of our adoptable dogs are available on PetFinder 💜🐾
