When I came in, you could see every rib, and it was clear I hadn’t known much comfort or care. But look at me now… I’ve gained almost 30 pounds, my coat is shining, and everyone says you can tell I’m finally feeling loved (and okay… maybe I’ve gotten pretty good at sweet-talking my way into a few extra treats).<br/><br/>If you’re looking for a built-in best friend, I might just be your guy. I’ve got a smile that could brighten your worst day and a personality that’s equal parts playful and sweet.<br/><br/>I love a good adventure, and when the day is done, I’m all about couch cuddles and soaking up your attention. Belly rubs? Yes please. Compliments about how handsome I am? Even better. I promise to return the favor with nonstop loyalty and goofy grins.<br/><br/>I’m good with other dogs and wouldn’t mind a canine sibling. I do need a cat-free home. My dream life? Hanging out with my people, playing, snuggling a lot, and being your forever sidekick.<br/><br/>If you’ve got love to give, I’ve got a whole lot of tail wags ready for you." <br/><br/>McGee is a 3 year old Pit Bull Mix. He weighed about 53 lbs when he arrived.<br/><br/>He is kennel trained and appears to be house trained.<br/><br/><br/><br/>ADOPTING A PET<br/>We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend. Please contact us by phone at 913-321-1445 or by email at petadoptions@kckpd.org to schedule your appointment during weekdays.<br/><br/>If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.<br/><br/>Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).<br/><br/>FOSTERING<br/>Can't commit to adoption but still want to help us save lives? Consider fostering by filling out our foster application at https://www.kckpd.org/Animal-Services/Foster-a-Pet. All supplies are provided.
