McCormack's Story

McCormack entered Riverside Shelter as an underweight injured stray, and sadly, no one came looking for him. Despite clearly having lived a tough life, shelter staff and volunteers described him as quiet, sweet boy who walks nicely on leash and gently accepts treats and handling.

We learned just how special McCormack is after welcoming him as a Frosted Face. He immediately earned the privilege of being a FFF lobbyist, which is our affectionate term for dogs not bothered at all by people or other dogs coming in and out of our lobby, who don't door dash and don't guard food or bed. In other words, McCormack is a gem!

For the past several months, McCormack has been living in a foster home where he is receiving the love and pampering a gentle soul like him deserves. His foster mom shared recently shared this update:

"McCormack is a sweet dog whose tail always wags when he sees you, or you talk to him. He's a very quiet dog that I have never heard bark. He loves toys and balls with squeakers.

When I took McCormack home to foster, I was told that he didn't like if another dog got too close to him as they passed, but I haven't noticed that behavior with my animals, which include small dogs and cats.

McCormick has some arthritis in his back legs so can show weakness in back legs when walking. His day is spent mainly sleeping or waiting on any kind of food or treats. He loves to eat!"

McCormack has a wonderful foster home but is still waiting for a forever family who will cherish him during his golden years. A soft voice, gentle pets, and yummy food is all he asks for. Is there room in your heart and home for McCormack?

To meet McCormack, please email:
placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
