Mayo's Story
Mayo is a lovable 6–7 year old gentle giant with soulful eyes, a calm personality, and a heart as big as he is. At around 100 pounds, he's happiest simply being near his people — whether that's relaxing on the couch, hanging out in your home office, or supervising dinner preparations from nearby.

After arriving at CACC in rough condition, Mayo has been getting the care he deserves and continues to thrive in foster care. He has completed heartworm treatment and will still need to be neutered. Despite everything he's been through, Mayo remains incredibly sweet, affectionate, and eager for attention.

Mayo has a unique, slightly clumsy gait and occasional coordination issues, but it doesn't slow down his enjoyment of life. He's not looking for marathon hikes or an overly active household — he'd much rather spend his days lounging nearby and enjoying a relaxed routine with his people.

He does very well with other dogs in his foster home, both large and small, and has settled in nicely with them. Mayo is not a fit for homes with cats or other small animals.

Mayo is crate trained and generally keeps his space clean. He's still working on consistency when loose in the house, especially if left unsupervised, but he continues to improve with routine and structure.

More than anything, Mayo wants to be loved. He bonds deeply with his people and would do best in a home where someone is around much of the time. If you're looking for a sweet, laid-back dog who just wants a soft place to land and people to adore, Mayo may be your perfect match.
