Maya's Story

Hi there! My name is Maya, and I have a small confession: I’m currently going through a bit of an identity crisis. My foster parents tell me I’m a dog, but every time I pass a mirror, I see a tiny panda cub staring back!

I have these perfectly round black "spectacles" around my eyes and a fuzzy white coat that makes everyone at the park stop and ask if I escaped from a wildlife sanctuary. I promise I’m 100% puppy, though my favorite "panda" move is rolling around in the grass until I’m a dizzy, happy ball of fluff.

I come with built-in eyeliner that makes me look perpetually curious. My favorite quirk? When I’m excited, I do a little "panda pounce"—I don't just run; I hop with both front paws at once!

I am only 3 lbs and my foster mom thinks I will stay under 25 pounds when fully grown. I like to play, but I am also calm and cuddly. I likely will likely require Grooming as I get older.

If you are interested in adopting there is an application below! This is the first step. We do not schedule meet and greets without an approved application.

https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PDAR/Dog

The adoption fee for this dog is $550 which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter. You will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100.00 will be returned to the adopter once the animal has been sterilized. We will need proof of sterilization from the vet in order to receive the $100.

98% of our adoptables come from out of state. There are higher fees associated as we have to pay to have the animals transported. We are a non-profit rescue. Any access revenue made is used to care for animals with additional medical expenditures that would otherwise result in adoptable dogs having to be left behind and euthanized.
