Meet May! May is a 5-year-old, 14-pound Shih Tzu girl who is looking for a very special person to call her own.<br/><br/>May is a shy girl who needs a little time to feel comfortable with new people. She isn't the dog who is going to run up to you and shower you with kisses within the first few minutes of meeting you. She needs patience, kindness, and the opportunity to get to know you at her own pace. But once May decides you can be trusted, something wonderful happens—she becomes the sweetest little companion who will happily sit by your side and soak up all the love you want to give her. <br/><br/>May has been with Underdog for some time because she was extremely nervous when she first arrived. But look at her now! She has come such a long way, and we are incredibly proud of her progress. We know there is a special family out there who will appreciate just how rewarding it is to earn the trust of a shy dog like May.<br/><br/>May is not accustomed to being leash walked, so a home with a securely fenced yard would be ideal for her. She would also love to have at least one other friendly canine companion to help show her the ropes and give her confidence.<br/><br/>May is looking for a quiet, low-traffic home where she can continue to blossom without being overwhelmed. If you have the patience to let her come out of her shell on her own time, May could become your sweetest and most devoted little buddy for life.
