I knew the sound of his voice. I knew what it felt like to be loved.<br/><br/>Then everything changed.<br/><br/>I was surrendered to a shelter, and suddenly, at 10 years old, I found myself scared, confused, and surrounded by unfamiliar sights and sounds. Shelter life was very hard for me. I missed having a family, a routine, and someone to call my own.<br/><br/>I struggled there.<br/><br/>Thankfully, the wonderful people at Three Stooges Rescue saw me and knew I deserved a second chance. They rescued me from the shelter and gave me hope for a brighter future.<br/><br/>Im trying my best to be brave.<br/><br/>The people at Three Stooges Rescue tell me that my story isnt over yet. They tell me that somewhere out there is another family who will love me just as much as I love them.<br/><br/>I hope theyre right.<br/><br/>Im a 36-pound Cattle Dog mix with a big heart and a loyal soul. Im housebroken and I know how to be a wonderful companion. I get along well with respectful children and enjoy the company of other dogs. Once I bond with my people, Im devoted to them completely.<br/><br/>I still have plenty of life left in me, too. I enjoy exploring the yard, going for walks, and investigating all the interesting smells the world has to offer. But these days, Im just as happy curling up nearby while you relax. Being close to my people is what matters most.<br/><br/>Ill admit that change can be hard for me. After losing everything familiar, I like a little time to settle in and understand that Im safe. But once I do, youll discover a loyal best friend who wants nothing more than to be part of your family.<br/><br/>What I miss most isnt a house.<br/><br/>Its belonging to someone.<br/><br/>Having a person who looks for me when they get home.<br/><br/>Having a bed that stays mine.<br/><br/>Having a family that knows my favorite spots for scratches and remembers that I like to be close.<br/><br/>At my age, Im not looking for adventure around every corner.<br/><br/>Im looking for forever.<br/><br/>A soft place to land.<br/><br/>A family to love.<br/><br/>A home where I never have to wonder what tomorrow will bring.<br/><br/>Ive already had my heart broken once.<br/><br/>Im hoping the next chapter of my story is filled with comfort, companionship, and the kind of love that lasts forever.<br/><br/>Love,<br/>Max
