My name is Maxxwell (aka Maxx) and I really need to find my best friend. When I first came to my rescuer, she discovered I had some separation anxiety which caused a real problem because I can climb fences and destroy crates. She soon discovered though that I was housetrained (though I have had a few accidents which she thinks has to do with my anxiety, then a surgery and then finally the fact that I was fed late and didn't get to go out before bedtime)! I have settled down very nicely and will now stay in the yard for the most part since I know that's where FOOD and LOVE is. <br/><br/>If you can find a place in your heart and in your home, I will be your best friend forever...and beyond. I am about a year old, appear to be a German Shepherd/Anatolian Shepherd mix and I have been neutered, vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas/ticks. I don't bother chickens, ducks, cats and I get along well with other dogs EXCEPT intact males (and I did try to play with a duck one day, but didn't hurt it). I have absolutely no food aggression issues either with people or animals. I do need to be taught some manners, which my rescuers are working on, but if you will be patient with me, I am a very quick learner and I want nothing more than to please my special person. They are working with me on crate training, but I'm not a fan, but I am getting better.<br/><br/>If you are interested in giving me a home, please message my rescuer to discuss my needs -- please tell them where you live and why you think I would be a good fit for you! Please include whether you plan to keep me in the house with you and who else you have in your family. I have a high need for companionship, but you will never regret investing your time into me. There will be an adoption fee but it is more important to my rescuer that I have the perfect home than that they are reimbursed for their expenses.
