Meet Max! <br/><br/>Max is a 4-year-old German Shepherd/Lab mix with a serious zest for life and a whole lot of personality packed into one very good boy.<br/><br/>Before coming into rescue, Max was sitting in a rural shelter in Idaho with a deadline—and if you know, you know. Shelter life was incredibly hard on him, and Max simply wasn't able to show who he really was in that environment.<br/><br/>Thankfully, he got his second chance.<br/><br/>Since coming into rescue, Max has absolutely thrived. Away from the stress of the shelter, we've gotten to see the real Max: a happy, enthusiastic boy who loves life and is always ready to enjoy whatever the day brings.<br/><br/>Max can be a little aloof with strangers at first. He's not the kind of dog who immediately assumes every person he meets is his new best friend—and that's okay! Give him a little time to get to know you, and once you're in his circle, you're in. He becomes your best buddy and a loyal companion who's happy to be by your side.<br/><br/>Max is great with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends. He's a little interested in cats, but he means no harm. His curiosity may need some management and appropriate introductions, but he's not looking for trouble.<br/><br/>Max is looking for an adult-only home without children where his boundaries will be respected and he can continue being the happy, thriving dog we've come to know and love.<br/><br/>He's also got an incredible foundation for life with his future family. Max is crate trained, potty trained, and reliable off leash. He's ready for a home that will appreciate his zest for life, give him the time and space to build trust, and then enjoy the incredibly loyal best friend waiting on the other side.<br/><br/>Max is available through our Supported Adoption, which means his future family won't be doing this alone.
