Maxus's Story
Maxus tried to follow. The one-year-old Labrador – Blue Heeler mix always longed to be close to his family. The door shut in his face. That wasn’t unusual. Maxus knew that dogs stayed home and waited. He’d done it many times, but this time felt different. This time something about the way his people hurried away frightened Maxus.

As time passed, Maxus was even more frightened. He was hungry, hungrier than he’d ever been. Still Maxus waited. He remembered that good dogs wait quietly. Finally, Maxus couldn’t do that. His whimpers became barks.

Neighbors called the shelter and, like a good boy, Maxus went with some new people. Amazingly, the innocent, hopeful boy continues to trust people. Maxus deserves a friend who’s worthy of that faith.
Wt 46lbs
