Maxine needs a home! <br/><br/>She is so good with toddlers and other pets. She had been in a foster home a few weeks after being found alone in a driveway with no mother. Cabo Rojo Animal hospital helped get her healthy with deworming, antibiotics and iron supplements. Maxine now has a clean bill of health. She likes to play outside but prefers to sleep in your lap inside.<br/><br/>Maxine was flown from Puerto Rico to Jacksonville, FL on 5/22, and is currently with a foster. She is too young to be adopted yet, but we are accepting applications so we can find the perfect family for her! Her foster is willing to do meet & greets to make sure it is a good match.<br/><br/>From her new foster:<br/>She’s here!!! This sweet lil girl from Puerto Rico is everything a puppy should be… playful, silly, sweet and curious. She is 6weeks old and weighs 6.5 pounds. She should be 35-40 pounds when fully grown. She is learning basic house training, that the crate can be a safe and comfy space, and how to interact properly with other dogs. She would love to have an older puppy playmate and a secure yard where she can explore! <br/><br/>Maxine had a rough beginning and was found in a driveway at just 3 weeks old with no mother to be found. She was very anemic and is just now becoming more active and playful. She loves to play with her toys and then will settle down nicely for a nap. She took a nice nap in her crate today after just whining a few times. <br/><br/>She will see our vet next week to check her iron and will be vaccinated when she is old enough. We would love to find an adopter who has a young dog or older puppy that Maxine can learn doggie manners from, or an owner who is willing to work on these necessary skills. <br/>If you would like to adopt this sweet girl, please let me know!
