Maximus-I26043's Story

Meet Maximus-I26043. A Pembroke Welsh Corgi with a DOB of 12.9.21 and a coat color with black/white/tan. He will be neutered soon. He has a microchip & UTD on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $450 plus MN State Sales Tax.

If you are serious about this dog, please go to our website and fill out an application: https://faerielandrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

We do not adopt our dogs to folks who live in apartments.

Maximus is a very sweet 4.5 year old corgi looking for someone willing to give him endless petting and snuggles. He’s a little bit of a couch potato and could stand to shed a few pounds, but he’d honestly rather cuddle than go for a run.

He’s intelligent and thoughtful. He is learning to live in a house as his first few years were at a breeding facility where his life was to create puppies. When learning something new, he’ll often sit and think about it before moving forward – his first few times on a leash, he would walk a few steps before sitting to process the experience. He’s also getting quite good at recalls as he is learning his name. As he’s gotten more comfortable in his foster home, he’s started to assert his corgi independence a little. Sometimes he just wants to sit in the yard and take in all the new scents and sounds. He is loving this new life. But after a little while,
the desire for affection over comes him and he comes trotting over for a cuddle.

He’s still working on housebreaking but does okay as long as he’s kept close. That’s usually pretty easy to do, as he would prefer to stay near his people. He also tolerates wearing a belly band fairly well as he gains a little more freedom around the house. He’s friendly and respectful with the other dogs in the household, but we haven’t tested him with cats or children. He’s been gently curious about new people and dogs and would likely be fine with cats if introduced properly.

Max is an incredibly sweet boy who just needs someone to love him. While he will happily soak in all the attention he can get, he’s also content just to sleep nearby. He’d love to meet you and steal your
heart!

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved.

We do not allow our dogs to be tied, tethered, chained or secured on a tie out for any of our dogs. We do not allow our rescue dogs to go into homes with an underground electronic fence system. We don not adopt our dogs to folks who plan to have the dogs living outside 24/7 or the majority of time or living in a kennel type environment

FaerieLand Rescue's Adoption Policy
FaerieLand process is the following: You can view our pets on Petfinder or the website. We require an application with a paid $25.00 application processing fee, with 2 personal & 1 vet reference along with a home visit prior to doing an adoption. Most of our dogs do better in a fenced area vs running loose. We match our rescues with current families according to current family members (IE: adults, children, teens), current pets(IE other dogs, other animals) and location, experience, level of activity, personality of the dog, temperament of the dog and want each dog to find their Furever home. Applying for a dog does not entitle you to adopt one of our dogs. German Shepherds & Welsh Corgis are herding dogs and need a job. They are not good dogs for apartments or small spaces. They require exercise every day. They require training and socialization to become a well rounded family member.
