Maximillion's Story
Poor Mr. Maximillion can’t seem to catch a break. Last year, this handsome guy thought he hit the jackpot when a wonderful woman adopted him. And truly, he’s been living his very best life in PA, showered with love and care. But now, through no fault of his own, Max once again finds himself searching for a new home. His loving momma has fallen ill and can no longer keep up with his needs. She adores him dearly, but with the strict rules of her caregiving situation, Max simply isn’t able to live the active, happy life he deserves.

Max has taken it all in stride—he’s patient, gentle, and tries so hard to be the good boy he is. But his mom knows his future happiness depends on finding a family who can give him the love, fun, and freedom he craves.

? At nearly 6 years old, Max may be considered a “senior” on paper, but don’t let that fool you—this boy is young at heart! He’s just as excited for a hike or a game of fetch as he is for a long nap snuggled up under a blanket. He loves riding in the car, hanging out with his people, and yes… squeezing into laps that technically he doesn’t fit in. (Max lives by the motto: “If I fits, I sits.” ?)

? Max is brilliant as can be—his mom even hired a trainer to help him polish his leash manners and settle into home life. He’s eager to learn, food-motivated, and happy to show that old dogs absolutely can learn new tricks.

? His story before his current momma shows just how loyal and resilient he is. Max once belonged to a man experiencing homelessness. When life circumstances changed, Max tragically ended up in a high-kill shelter through no fault of his own. But he was saved, treated for heartworm, neutered, and fully vetted. This boy has been through so much, yet his heart is still full of love to give.

Max would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can run and play, and he’d do best with older kids (because he sometimes forgets he’s not pint-sized!). What he wants more than anything is to be with his people—whether that’s hiking, playing, or curling up for a cozy movie night.

If you’ve been searching for a versatile, loyal best friend—the kind that’s always ready for adventure, but equally happy to be your snuggle buddy—you just found him. ??
