Maxi's Story

Meet Maxi! She is a fun-loving, sweet, playful lapdog.

According to Google AI image recognition, Maxi is considered a blend between a Rat Terrier and a Feist.

Maxi is approximately 1-1.5 yrs young and is full grown at approximately 10 lbs.

She is a gentle soul, always ready to listen to a secret or share a walk with you.

Her breed blend is very interesting:

A feist is a small hunting dog. This group descended from the terriers brought over to the United States by British miners and other immigrants. These terriers probably included crosses between the Smooth Fox Terrier, the Manchester Terrier, and the now-extinct English White Terrier.

These dogs were used as ratters, and gambling on their prowess in killing rats was a favorite hobby of their owners.

Some of these dogs have been crossed with Greyhounds, Whippets or Italian Greyhounds (for speed), and Beagles or other hounds (for hunting ability) - extending the family to include a larger variety of purpose than the original ratter, or Rat Terrier.

All we know is that Maxi would make a great addition to any loving home. She is spayed, up-to-date with shots and microchipped. She gets along with other small, gentle dogs and loves her humans.

See below for more information on how to adopt Maxi.

***

If you are interested in submitting an adoption application for Maxi, please email:

info@KenMarRescue.org

and write “Request for application for Maxi,” in the subject line.

Thanks for checking out Maxi’s profile and submitting an adoption application.

***

Ken-Mar Rescue is a 501c3 charitable organization.
