Max's Story

Max (Maxi) is a 7-year-old Havanese mix weighing approximately 10 pounds.

This handsome little guy is house trained, crate trained, and full of personality. Max is smart, loyal, and knows several commands, including sit, paw, and down. He even waits patiently for permission before enjoying his meals.

Max loves belly rubs, chin scratches, cozy naps, and carrying around his favorite toy, Bear Bear. He forms strong bonds with his people and thrives in a home that provides structure, consistency, and clear expectations.

Because of his personality and attachment to his people, Max is looking for an adult-only home with an experienced dog owner. He is not a first-time dog and will do best with someone who understands that trust and relationships take time. Max can be nervous around new people and loud noises, but with patience and routine, he settles in well and becomes a devoted companion.

Max has a seizure disorder that is well controlled with medication. He has been seizure-free for nearly two years and takes his medication easily. His medication costs approximately $8 per month, and he simply needs routine veterinary monitoring twice a year to ensure he continues to do well.

As a Havanese mix, Max will require regular grooming to keep his coat healthy and comfortable.

Through no fault of his own, Max is looking for a new home because his owner is moving out of state and is unable to take him along. While this decision has been incredibly difficult, the hope is to find him a loving family where he can continue to thrive.

Max’s adoption fee has been waived, but our adoption screening and approval process still applies.

If you are looking for a smart, loyal companion with plenty of personality, Max may be the perfect fit.

To apply, please visit:
www.lastchanceanimalrescue.org/adoption-request-form

Questions: dogs@lastchanceanimalrescue.org
