Max's Story
Max is an 8-year-old neutered miniature Dachshund. Max is in a foster home and it has been learned that it does take a while for him to warm up to new people. He has gravitated to the male in the household as his primary person. Max did OK with the grandchildren that visited but could become over stimulated when they were around and because of that we recommend that he goes to a quiet home where children aren’t present all the time. He does wonderful with telling you when he needs to go outside for potty time. He will remind you when it is time for you to feed him and can become persistent to let you know when he wants to play fetch with his toys. He loves to go on walks and ride around on a golf cart. He doesn’t do so well with car rides. Max is going to need someone who has experience with the Dachshund breed.
The kind of home that Max is going to need to go to is going to need a male present that is willing to take care of him and be his predominate care giver. As stated previously he needs to go to a quieter home without children. He is ok with other people in the household once he gets acquainted with them. It is going to take Max at least 3 months to start to adjust to any new home environment. Prospective adopters are going to have patience to allow Max to come to them as he becomes more comfortable with them. We are not sure how he does around other animals, he would have to meet them to determine.
If interested in Max, please leave a message at 608-847-4060 and we will contact you.
