Max's Story

Max was left on our front porch one morning, and while we don’t know much about his past, we’re getting to know what an amazing dog he truly is. At about 3 years old and 94 lbs, he’s a big boy, but he is all lap dog. He loves to lean on you, go between your legs, or even sit on you if you let him. He loves affection!

Max is house-trained, non-destructive, and already knows “sit” and “paw.” He walks nicely on the leash, checking in with his person often, and loves to romp around outside or play with you. He is energetic and would love an outlet for his energy! He likes to play with toys, but is happy to stop for some pets.

Despite his size, Max has a timid side. He can be easily startled and needs a little time to warm up to new people and places. Once he feels safe, you’ll see his playful, loyal, and incredibly sweet personality shine through. He is incredibly goofy, especially during play time.

Max has met a another female dog and did well, though he did try and hump her a few times. We recommend a meet and greet if there are other pets in the home. Max has yet to meet a cat. Max loves women and children, but it does take him a little longer to come around to men.

If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who’s equal parts playmate and loyal companion, Max may be the perfect match.

Fun tidbit: Max looks and moves like a newborn foal when he plays!
