Max's Story

Meet Max — The Gentle Husky with a Heart of Gold

If you think all Huskies are wild, loud, and constantly on the go, Max would very much like to prove you wrong.

Max is a gorgeous 2 to 3 year-old Siberian Husky who weighs just 45 pounds, but what really makes this boy special isn't his beautiful coat or those classic Husky good looks — it is his incredibly sweet heart.

Max is gentle, affectionate, calm, and deeply devoted to his people. He doesn't need nonstop adventure to be happy. Give him a leisurely walk, some time by your side, a comfy place to stretch out, and plenty of love, and Max thinks life is pretty perfect.

He's the kind of dog who forms a real bond with his person. Once Max decides you are his, you have yourself one incredibly loyal best friend.

And if you need proof of just how special he is, Max has become our official greeter at adoption events!

While other dogs may be busy showing off, Max is happily welcoming visitors, soaking up attention, and charming people with his quiet, gentle nature. He has a way of making friends without even trying.

At only 45 pounds, he's also the perfect size for someone looking for a companion who can truly be part of everyday life — walks, adventures, road trips, lazy Sundays on the couch... Max just wants to be included.

Max isn't a big fan of spending long periods in a kennel. He would much rather be relaxing beside his favorite human, keeping you company and reminding you that personal space is highly overrated.

He would be happiest as the only dog, where he can enjoy having his people all to himself. He may also do well sharing his home with a calm, submissive female dog of similar size or smaller. Max has also done well with cats.

Max is:
Approximately 2 to 3 years old
About 45 lbs
Neutered
Fully vaccinated
Heartworm negative
Cat friendly
Available for local or out-of-state adoption
Transport available to approved adopters

Max really doesn't ask for much.

He wants someone to belong to.
Someone whose footsteps he recognizes.
Someone to walk beside.
Someone to curl up near at the end of the day.

He just wants his person.

And somewhere out there is a person who has no idea that their incredibly loyal, ridiculously handsome, 45-pound best friend is already waiting for them.

Maybe its you.

Max is currently being fostered in Texas but available to transport to approved adopter in the Midwest, Northeast and Canada.

$400 Adoption fee includes vaccinations, Spay/Neuter, microchip, deworming,
$300 fee for Transport and vet/documentation requirements in preparation for transport.

You can find my form "AJC Rescue & Transport Adoption Application" at:

https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AJCR/Dog
