Max's Story

Meet Max

This loyal 5yearold German Shepherd is the perfect blend of calm and playful-an easygoing guy who enjoys a laidback life but also loves showing off his happy trot when it's time for a walk or when he gets excited. Max has lived peacefully with other dogs, is fully housetrained and cratetrained, and prefers a home that's steady and predictable but still has room for light fun. He hasn't met cats or kids yet, so a family willing to introduce new experiences slowly and respectfully would be ideal.

Max's journey includes a small medical piece, but it's one that's easily supported with consistent care. He has hypothyroidism, a common condition where the thyroid glands don't produce enough of the thyroid hormone. Treatment is straightforward-just a daily medication-and many dogs with this condition live long, happy, normal lives. Hypothyroidism can make dogs lowerenergy or prone to weight gain. He'll thrive in a home that appreciates a slower pace, can keep up with his medication schedule, and wants a gentle, happy companion by their side.

Apply to adopt Max today, or email dogs@rispca.org with any questions!
